Unless you have been living under a rock, you know how important it is to have a web presence to grow your business. Getting your website to the top of Google, Bing and Yahoo for keywords and phrases that people use to find services that your business performs is crucial to getting new customers. Now days it's not just about your website though. You need to have a social presence as well. FaceBook pages, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, Instagram - and the list goes on and on! It's not important that you be on all of these different social media platforms, but at least a few of them. social media icons One good thing about having these additional platforms is that it helps increase your brand. Branding is something that the search engines like to look at to really solidify your business and who you are. A post in the Huffingtonpost.com at the end of last year covered some things about social media, and how it's not going anywhere:

Social Media: How You Can Use it to Grow Your Business

The fact you are reading this means you likely have some knowledge of social media. In fact, the business owners who should read this likely won't, because they will never know about it. A few weeks ago I went to meet with a potential client. During our meeting, I discussed growth strategy options for their company. This firm I am referring to has been in business for over four decades and has thousands of clients, but there is a problem: The vast majority of their clients were over 70 years of age. While they are currently generating a solid stream of revenue, what will happen after their current client base begins to disappear? What about the younger generations? "We don't do need any more business, and we do not use social media." Those words have been spoken to me more than one time from the mouth of a small business owner. Listen, after working for someone else for the majority of my adult life, I took a risk and started my own business. It began as a ton of freelance work, but it became much larger. It's amazing what happens when you help others reach their goals and show businesses how to increase their profits and revenue, suddenly, everyone wants to talk to you. Social media has played a key role for me, for my initial launch, for networking, connecting, building relationships, and for learning. I have been mentored by people I have never met and likely will never meet. I have clients who I will likely never see. It is amazing what we have access to now. It is so much more than just "the Internet." Should we thank Al Gore or what? He did claim to have invented the Internet, right? Business owners everywhere dive off into a world of panic and hysteria when someone asks them if they are on social media. Have you ever wondered why this is the case? Social media is not going away. Period. We better master it now and reap the benefits before it is too late. Let's face it, I would have made my leap from traditional employment to full-time entrepreneurship ten years ago if I had known what I know now. The problem? I wouldn't have had the access to learn what I know now ten years ago. Finish Reading Here...
So the business that we are show casing, and also learned a lot from is an Internet Marketing Company.  MD Internet Marketing Solutions a SEO company in Atlanta GA, is a leader in the space of internet marketing and what it takes to get to the top of the searches, and get new customers and clients into businesses with the power of the internet. They taught us more about Social Media Marketing and how it pertains to what is now known as the Semantic Web. For sake of keeping this write up shorter, we will just skim over some of the highlights from the interview. According to Ken Mandich, the CEO of the company, by having multiple social media platforms and your website all connected together, this really enforces your brand and helps create a Semantic relationship. "Think about it, all of the big brands do this. Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart and a whole slue of other companies." Ken went on to state that "YouTube video marketing is probably the wave of the future that is here now. We love YouTube for all of our customers because it does work for everyone. Even if a business owner doesn't want to be on camera, animated videos and white board videos can be created to get your message about your services conveyed to your potential clients." "There are so many platforms that can be used, but you don't have to be overwhelmed with trying to use all of them, especially if you don't have the resources to properly manage them", he went on to say. "Our favorites that we see the most beneficial for business is of course YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. As long as you have a presence on these 3 platforms, you will probably be way ahead of your competition." If you plan on getting your business ahead of your competition and growing this year, you probably better figure out how you can get more exposure on as many social media platforms as possible.
